APPLICATIO has been contracted by KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) to develop a Feasibility Study to extend the training offers on "Wildlife Management" and the Campus of the University of Namibia (UANM) in Katima Mulio (Northern Namibia). The study prepares a project to extend the Campus and to develop new training offers for students from the whole SADC region.
The University of Namibia (UNAM) has created a new Department for Wildlife Management & Ecotourism (DWME) at its Campus in Katima Mulilo in the Northeast of Namibia, which includes building of infrastructure and establishing a new curriculum. Currently, the German Government through its Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and via KfW is planning for financial support for the expansion of the Katima Mulilo Campus (KMC). At the moment, only a few buildings exist on site. Limited training activities have already started using infrastructure of the former College of Education.
APPLICATIO develops the study in cooperation with the Namibia Nature Foundation (NNF). Based on a demand research in the SADC region and the assessment of existing training offers it will develop several concepts (stakeholder management, curriculum development, network management, marketing) and plan the extension of the Campus with regard to physical Infrastructure. The final study will show a detailed project implementation plan.
APPLICATIO/NNF include some 10 regional/locale and 10 international experts in the study development form May 1 to July 31, 2015.
