APPLICATIO has been commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH with the quantitative and qualitative assessment of 12 pilot projects in the framework of the sector programme "Religion and Development (SPRE)". The implementation of pilot projects gives a still young field of DC a broader scope to test concrete approaches of cooperation with religious actors, to develop new and innovative methods and to derive evidence of impact and overarching recommendations for action for German DC from the lessons learned. In In order to demonstrate the potential of cooperation with religious actors for German DC and to contribute to anchoring the topic in project implementation, pilot interventions coordinated with the BMZ are implemented. Pilot projects are small-volume and time-limited interventions with the GIZ external structure and external partners (Faith-Based Organisations, FBOs). These are now being analysed individually and collectively by APPLICATIO.
