APPLICATIO was commissioned by sequa gGmbH to conduct an evaluation of the Chamber and Association Partnership Project "West Balkan 6" (WB6). The partnership project brings together the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) IHK and chambers from the six Balkan states Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Serbia. The aim of the project is, on the one hand, to strengthen the organisational capacities of the partner chambers and to promote their dialogue with politics in order to create better economic framework conditions. Another focus is to better organise the cooperation of the local chambers of commerce and to promote the regional umbrella organisation of the chambers, the "Chamber Investment Forum".
SEQUA Project Evaluation Balkan
Despite positive developments in recent years, the economy in the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Serbia) continues to be confronted with a slow and politicised public administration, a lack of legal certainty, high brain drain and only slow improvement in competitiveness. Strong national chambers of commerce as well as their closer regional cooperation have the potential to improve the economic framework conditions. This is where the Western Balkans Chamber and Association Partnership comes in and supports the partner chambers in strengthening themselves and their network.
