APPLICATIO was commissioned by Deutschen der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to conduct three training courses on "Project Cycle Management" in Tunisia for the project "Support of Municipalities in Libya". The courses are intended to provide participants - civil servants from municipalities and ministries as well as selected national technical staff of the GIZ from Libya - with the necessary knowledge and skills in project management to work as municipal consultants.
On behalf of the German Federal Government, GIZ implements the programme "Support for Municipalities in Libya". The programme concentrates on 16 (out of a total of 108) municipalities in the south and north-west part of Libya. It is divided into four intervention areas
- Coordination between local and national authorities,
- Improving basic public services
- Measures related to local economic development and job creation; and
- Actions related to the development of civil society, peace-building and conflict prevention.
The Libyan Ministry of Local Government (MoLG) of the Government of the National Accord (GNA) is the political partner of the programme.
