APPLICATIO has been contracted by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) gGmbH to support the organisational development process of the programme "Business Scouts for Development". Within the scope of the contract APPLICATIO will support the GIZ in steering and processual monitoring of the OE process, advise and coach executives, offer consultations on strategic planning or facilitate various workshops and team-building events. Business Scouts work as development policy experts in the umbrella organisations of German business, industry associations, chambers of commerce and industry, chambers of trade and industry and foundation organisations in Germany and almost 40 countries worldwide. As a high-performance contact structure at the interface between German foreign trade and development cooperation, they advise and promote the development policy engagement of German, European and local companies on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The Business Scouts for Development initiate and design cooperation projects relevant to development policy and work closely with partners from the business community and vocational training organisations, partners from the business community and vocational training organisations in Germany and locally. The successful work of the five predecessor projects "EZ-Scouts", "ExperTS", "Global Business Network", "Skilled Crafts and Trade Network 4 Africa" and "Perspektiven schaffen" was merged into the large-scale project Business Scouts for Development from January 2021 in order to bundle approaches and resources and simplify contact structures.
